Yay, you’re here!
Hi, I’m Lauren, the creator of The Cozy Eclectic, and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m mom to two little humans and one dog. We’re Alabama natives living in Huntsville, AL. We drink a lot of coffee, work hard at our jobs, and work harder at loving our little family. It’s kind of hilarious that I’ve started this blog because my home is so very undone. I’ve started this blog to provide an outlet for the creative in me (she never gets out!) and to connect with those who enjoy design that’s one part funky cool and one part comfy cozy. I also need a bit of fire in my life to wrap things up, tie the bow… Maybe if I have to take a picture of it, I’ll actually take the steps to make it what I envisioned when I started. I’m like many of you in that my home is currently sucking my energy rather than inspiring me… that stops today (right after I finish this cup of coffee)!
What I hope to provide on this blog…
- Bite-sized design and DIY ideas because, you know, life.
- Bold color and eclectic decor inspiration. Nothing scares me design-wise other than boring.
- Furniture inspiration. I’m constantly hunting vintage furniture and am not above picking up pieces off the side of the road.
- Kid-friendly and real life design solutions.
- Mostly, ideas to make your home yours.
If your goal is to create a home with some personality and a cozy place to land at the end of the day, then you’re my kind of peeps, and I think we can have some fun along the way.

- We bought a 90’s era snooze-fest and are renovating it room by room (my kids have no idea how regular people live).
- I’m absolutely the thrifty one of our marriage (design is more fun with a challenge).
- I’m an aerospace engineer (this is my outlet for the whimsy in me!)
- I always have at least three home projects going at any given time.
- I love dogs… and bulleted lists.
You’ll see our dog, Chase, in so many photos because he is my constant sidekick and wants to be involved in anything I’m doing. We got him from our local shelter a few years ago and he’s completed our little fam jam.
